Weird pain and potential spotting...?

Ok the last few months i have noticed that a day or so before i start, there is mild spotting that disappears for about a day before I actually start. I don't know exactly when I am due to start, because Im pretty sure I have hereditary fertility problems and just don't worry about it. The other night I experienced pain during , so I changed positions and it was uncomfortable so I stopped. The next day it was painful again, and afterwards there was what I then umed to be spotting. I haven't started yet, and I am noticing the odd time (no more than once a day, if that frequent) that there are sharp pains in my lower abdomen. I plan to go to the doctor but its difficult to get an appt, any ideas?
